We can advise on all of the following forms of renewable energy and technologies. We can arrange surveys to establish the suitability of each technology and provide estimated payback periods. All equipment and installers will be MCS, (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) registered which is essential if you wish to take advantage of the Feed in Tariffs and Renewable Heat Incentives.
Solar electricity systems capture the sun’s energy using photovoltaic (PV) cells. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.
With the new Government “Feed in Tariffs”, you get paid for the electricity that you generate and receive payment for electricity exported back to your electricity provider. The Feed-in Tariffs for PV are guaranteed by the Government for 25 years and are index linked.

Solar thermal panels heat the water in your hot water cylinder. A solar thermal system can provide around one third of your hot water so that you can enjoy FREE hot water especially in spring, autumn and summer. Even in winter the panels will pre-heat the water in your tank so your boiler uses less energy keeping your water hot. In addition to the saving that will be made from conventionally heating the hot water, in April 2011 the Renewable Heat Incentives will be introduced whereby householders will receive annual payments guaranteed for 20 years for installing a solar thermal system.

Wind is an environmentally friendly source of sustainable energy and will reduce your energy bills.

A site survey will be necessary to assess the suitability of your property/site. Planning permission may also be required.

Biomass can reduce your fuel bills by at least 30%. Timber is a carbon neutral fuel because the CO2 released during combustion is the same as the amount of CO2 absorbed by the organism during its life. By choosing an MCS approved system you will be eligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive which is planned to be launched in April 2011.
There are several types of Biomass boilers available depending on your requirements. We can advise on the most suitable for your application.
• Solid log • Log and straw • Pellet • Wood Chip
Each boiler type has its own merits and many are fully automated.

By installing a rainwater harvesting system Domestic installations will typically save around 50% of normal water usage and in commercial installations, this saving can be as much as 85%. Therefore a considerable saving can be made as well as reducing water run off.

Whether ground source or air source heat we can advise on the most suitable system depending on requirements and site constraints.
Heat Pumps are designed to provide space heating and domestic hot water. They are a very cost effective means of providing space heating, because of the high efficiency of the units, the output heat energy can be up to 4 times the electrical input power - something not possible with other methods of heating.
In April 2011 the Renewable Heat Incentives will be introduced and annual payments can be received for heat generated. Heat pumps give a long trouble free life with very low maintenance costs.

A Heat Recovery Ventilation system recovers 60-70% of the heat normally lost through trickle vents and other breakout points in the building structure. By installing a Heat Recovery system you are providing filtered fresh air creating a healthier indoor environment alleviating allergy sufferers. By negating the need for trickle ventilators in the windows noise pollution and heat loss is greatly reduced.
